Letter: Is Trump Running for Governor of North Dakota?

With the primary election coming up, you would think that Trump is running for Governor of North Dakota. The two Republican candidates are trying to out Trump each other with their scathing media ads. I don’t believe either of them care about the needs of the everyday North Dakotan.

In November, there is an alternative candidate to vote for, Merrill Piepkorn. I know Merrill, I served with him in the Legislature, and he is a great guy. He will govern our State on what’s right for us, not on a personal agenda to further the future of the Republican candidates. Tammy would lead you to believe that you need to be the CEO of a large corporation to be our Governor. Merrill has experience with his own small company plus years in marketing and advertising. He is a business man.

Merrill does not have an outrageous amount of money to spend on media ads calling his opponent a liar. You will find him on the radio, in social media and in your communities wanting to personally meet you. What you will hear from Merrill is let’s lower, not eliminate, property taxes and support public education. Let’s help young families with affordable childcare, which helps our businesses and workforce issues. And, he believes it’s a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions. Merrill is a humble man, a caring man. Whether you are an Independent, Republican or Democrat, please listen to him and make your decision on who is best for North Dakota. Vote for Merrill.
